This activity focuses on agricultural benefits for women and youth.

It consists of:

• enabling ‘women and youth … to participate in watershed development activities in pastoral areas in order to ensure and expand women’s and youth’s benefit sharing by improving land fertility’;
• applying ‘various agricultural production increasing inputs … to increase productivity so that women and youth become beneficiaries’;
• expanding ‘provision of appropriate technology and inputs to increase production and productivity … in order to ensure that [women] are beneficiaries’.

Overall, this activity operates on the premise that while women in pastoral areas are currently more involved in agricultural activities than men, ‘participation of men in agriculture needs to grow and the workload of women should decrease’.
