At the 44th meeting of the Committee on World Food Security, the Pastoralist Knowledge Hub organised a side event on “Women’s empowerment for better resilience in pastoralist communities” on 12 October 2017. The all-women panel discussed strategies for ensuring pastoralist women’s access to natural resources, economic opportunities and education as a way to ensure their empowerment and strengthen the adaptive capacities of pastoralist communities.
Two members of CELEP – Sadia Ahmed (Somaliland) from PENHA and Ann Waters-Bayer (Germany) from Agrecol were in the panel.
