CELEP signed the petition to FAO in relation to their Global Agenda of Action for a Sustainable Livestock Sector (GAA). The letter asks for the inclusion of smallholder farmers and pastoralists in the multistakeholder dialogue. We believe that research into how to translate the demand for livestock products into opportunities for social and equitable development for pastoralists and smallholder livestock-keepers is urgently required and should be prioritised.
