CELEP Update July 2019
The CELEP Update July 2019 reports on past, ongoing and planned activities coordinated by CELEP’s European Focal Point at VSF–Belgium and Eastern African Focal Point at RECONCILE in Kenya. This 6-page issue includes information about recent events in which CELEP was involved, such the Désertif’actions summit in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; the Third African Union–European Union Agriculture Ministerial Conference in Rome, Italy; and the POLISES colloquium “Pastoralism in Transition” in Leipzig, Germany. It highlights the French and Spanish translation of the brief on pastoralists as family farmers and announces future events including the Tropentag conference and the CELEP Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Update also reports on various important lobbying activities such as participation in the EU consultation on the report of the Taskforce Rural Africa and the meeting between CELEP partners and the EU delegation in Uganda.
