The major aim of the Kenya Livestock Marketing Council (KLMC) is to promote livestock marketing and to improve pastoralists’ livelihood and reduce their vulnerability to the vagaries of weather and man-made disasters such as conflicts.

CELEP is managed by an elected European Focal Point, currently at VSF-Belgium, an Eastern African Focal Point, currently at RECONCILE, Kenya, and a Core Group. The 2022-2023 Core Group is composed of the European members Agrecol Association (Germany), International Institute for Environment and Development (UK) and VSF-Belgium; the Eastern African partners DADO Uganda, Pastoralist Forum Ethiopia, PENHA Somali and RECONCILE Kenya; and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
